Dragon Quest Monsters II Release Date Changes Yet Again

Following last week's report that Enix's GameBoy Color RPG, Dragon Quest Monsters II, would be delayed, Enix has announced that they have decided to bump up the game's release date by over a month. Previously expected to be released on April 12, Dragon Quest Monsters II is now slated for a March 9 release in Japan. It is still unknown whether the game will be released in North America.

Dragon Quest Monsters II, unlike other games in the Dragon Quest series, plays much like the Pokémon games. Gameplay consists of collecting and training monsters in order to boost the player's status as a trainer. Each trainer rises in the ranks by battling his/her monsters against those of other trainers. This sequel will be split into two parts, similar to Pokémon Gold/Silver. Aside from this, it is largely unknown how the sequel will differ from the original game. Stay tuned to RPGamer for more information about Dragon Quest Monsters II and the possibility of its release in North America.
