Many Dreamcast users used to broadband have been annoyed with the relatively slow speed of the built-in Dreamcast 56k modem. Sega hopes to change that next week with the upcoming release of the broadband adapter for the Dreamcast, allowing the system to utilize a broadband connection for faster browsing and netplay for supported games.
Though currently prepped for a May 10 release in stores, the adapter will be available from Sega's webstore starting on January 9th, for $59.99. This unfortunately means that the adapter will not be able to be pre-ordered, meaning that those who wish to guarantee an adapter should be prepared to wake up early on the 9th.
