The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages / Oracle of Seasons
After a battery of changes in both name and number, the newest entries to the Zelda series have finally solidified as The Oracle of Ages and The Oracle of Seasons. The two games are very similar and contain features which can only be unlocked by linking the two.
Upon starting the game, most players will immediately say "This is Link's Awakening all over again." The engine, item selection, and general feel of the game are almost exactly the same as this earlier title. While the games feature much larger numbers of NPCs, and many more convoluted side quests between dungeons, most of the game feels like well-tread ground.
The only feature which really separates these games from their older brother is the inclusion of time travel elements, an increasingly common trend in the series. In Oracle of Ages, there are various points where Link can travel several years backward and forward in time, while Seasons, naturally, allows Link to pass between the four seasons. Both games of course require the player to constantly flip about these time periods in order to solve puzzles and reach dungeons.
In summary, both new titles simply offer another dose or two of the Zelda charm which has kept players happy for years and years. If you're getting tired, walk away, but if you need your yearly Zelda fix, look for these new titles soon.
