[08/15/2010] So, it's been a long while since I've done an update. Partly it's been because I've been quite busy, but mostly it's that this column is becoming more and more unnecessary with each week that passes. The primary purpose of Points of View has always been to highlight reader reviews, but reader submissions have been almost nonexistent; in fact, these two from Lucky Melchior in this update are the first I've had in over four months.

Reader submissions have been in decline for far longer than that, though, and I think it's time to put this column to bed. So, this will be the last Points of View update. Our staff retroviews will be integrated with the main site, and this column will be put to rest.

Unless, of course, you can give me a reason to keep it around. I'll continue accepting reader submissions for the next month. If there's enough interest to warrant keeping the column around, I'll do another update. Otherwise, I'll simply close reader submissions down.
