ROB PARTON
JAPANDEMONIUM

Japandemonium

Well, I don't have strep throat anymore, but last night I did have a temperature of 102+! Cooking in my own juices, I was. That being said, I am still not up to par, but Japandemonium must go on. Too bad my knuckles are all seized up.

As usual, we start with the week's Dengeki numbers. You might notice it isn't very large this week, as only four RPGs have made the Top 30.

Pos. Title Publisher Plat. Sales Total
2 Pokémon Fire Red / Leaf Green Pokémon 51,475 1,691,751
14 Final Fantasy X-2 International + Last Mission Square Enix 12,971 234,994
22 Rockman EXE 4 Tournament: Red Sun / Blue Moon Capcom 5,787 857,083
27 Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire Pokémon 4,290 5,034,910

Lately, it has seemed like Square Enix has been the information juggernaut. This week, however, that job goes to Namco. They have announced that Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Bose will be released on June 24th, and will retail for 6980 yen. It will be released on two DVDs.

While we are on a Xeno rush, Namco has also released a number of screens from their PS2 fan disc, Xenosaga Freaks. It is a separate story using a number of characters from the original Xenosaga. The release date is approaching, as it will be coming out April 28th. It will retail for 4800 yen.

Namco isn't done, however! They will be releasing the action RPG The Nightmare of Druaga for PS2 on July 29th. Developed by Arika and Chun Soft, it is a new sequel to the Namco classic The Tower of Druaga.

Nintendo has also announced the development of a new Fire Emblem title for the Game Boy Advance. It is unknown if this new title is related to the annoucement coming in April, however.

Finally, Fullmetal Alchemist: Meisou no Rondo, published by Bandai and based on the incredibly popular anime, will be release this Friday, March 26th for 4800 yen.

Comments

Not much this week, and it has been pretty quiet on the RPG front in Japan. Hopefully some new stuff will start appearing soon. Meanwhile, I'm going to go back to bed.

Random Rob Rant [R3]

I crashed at my friend Steve's place on the weekend. There was much pizza, Pepsi/Coke, and DDR. When I went to bed, I took my glasses off and placed them on the table beside me, because I am completely blind without them. When I got up in the morning, they were gone. I spent three hours looking for them. That's when we found two shoes in the apartment that weren't there the previous evening. It seems the next door neighbour decided to come into the apartment (as Steve apparently forgot to lock the door!), and stole my glasses, as well as my friend Laura's watch (which was in her coat pocket). They were returned Monday, but not until after I ordered new glasses. This whole situation begs this question:

Who the heck steals prescription glasses?

~Rob Out~

Someone stole my glasses! I can't read the article! Oh, I can check out the archives later.
