Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has been out for several months months now, and soon it will be receiving its first major content patch. The 2.1 patch, which the dev team has titled "A Realm Awoken," will be adding several new features to the game. Notable among these are the guild housing system, the Wolves' Den PvP arena, treasure hunting, and a stylist who can alter the appearance of player characters.

The patch will also add a significant amount of new endgame content, including a new dungeon, new hard modes for older dungeons, new Extreme Mode bosses that are even stronger than the Hard Mode versions of those boss battles, and the Crystal Tower, the first 24-player raid dungeon. This patch will be released on December 17. A trailer that shows off many of the patch's features can be seen below.

Square Enix has also revealed some more information about the upcoming PlayStation 4 version of the game. Beta testing of that version will begin on February 22, the same day that the PS4 launches in Japan. Official service for that version will begin sometime in April.
