Ubisoft has just announced that South Park: The Stick of Truth will be delayed until March 4, 2014. The game was previously scheduled to come out in December, but Ubisoft decided to delay the project in order to bring it up to the desired quality level. Previously under the care of THQ, the game was purchased by Ubisoft earlier this year and apparently requires some extra TLC.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone, South Park's creators, are quoted with the following comment on the situation:
"We always wanted the game to feel like you’re actually in an episode of South Park. Getting the game up to the crappy standards of the show has been a real challenge and we’re excited to say it’s taken way longer than we thought it would.”
As an apology, Ubisoft has released some new gameplay footage. It should not be viewed by readers who are too young for expletives, crude humor, and butts.
