Sony's online marketplace, PlayStation Network, has caused a stir among those who enjoyed the eighth entry in Square Enix's long-running Final Fantasy series. A terse "coming soon" listing recently revealed that Final Fantasy VIII will shortly be made available there.

Further details were not provided concerning pricing and the date upon which the game will be re-released; sources indicate that a pre-Christmas release is likely, however. Final Fantasy VIII was originally released in 1999, and went on to sell over eight million copies.
