Agetec has announced that its PlayStation Portable RPG, PoPoLoCrois, has gone gold. The gold status means that the game has cleared the final approval hurdles and is now ready to begin being prepared for shipment to retailers. The company has also set what is likely to be a final release date for PoPoLoCrois, which should ship on December 6, 2005, if all goes according to Agetec's plans.

PoPoLoCrois is a remake of the first two games in the series, both of which appeared on the Sony PlayStation. The remake combines the two original games into a single narrative by way of a new bridging chapter.

Mark Johnson, Agetec's vice president of marketing, notes that "RPG enthusiasts have been nostalgic for a unique PSP system role-playing game," and that the "appeal of PoPoLoCrois for U.S. gamers is that they can play a traditional RPG game on their PSP system while enjoying many cool features, including a ton of playable characters, exciting cut scenes that further the story, a quick-save option for playing on the go, and a zoom feature so that every little detail can be savored."

The game has received an "E" for Everyone rating from the ESRB and has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $39.99. You can read RPGamer's preview of PoPoLoCrois here and hands on impression here.
