A staple in the lives of most literary science-fiction horror fans are the books of H. P. Lovecraft. So popular in fact, are his books, that
Dennis Detwiller, Scott Glancy, and John Tynes set themselves to producing a tabletop game based on the worlds found between
their covers. It seems appropriate then, that now, in the world of blips, bleeps, Game Boys and Pac-Man, that this famed
canon produce a video game. Apparently Flying Lab Software agrees, having begun production on
Delta Green, a
tactical RPG based on that very tabletop adaptation, set to be released for the PC sometime in 2003.
The ambitious title allows players to create conspiracies in order to undermine the plots of a
dynamic list of villains. Encompassing all kinds of threats, from corrupt politicians to maddened alien life forms, the
game also offers real-time tactical combat as an option. With the creators
of the tabletop game in tow for development, Delta Green certainly promises
to be an exciting release.
