Phantasy Star Online Snags Yet Another Award

Phantasy Star Online is already limping under the weight of a number of awards garnered over the past year, and now the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has seen fit to drop another trophy on the stack. The organization distinguished PSO with an award for networked games, lauding in particular its innovative icon-based communication system. This totals sixteen awards for the game, which continues to boast a strong following both online and off.

With an updated release of PSO slated to arrive on the X-Box in the near future, and yet another bound for the GameCube scheduled for March 2002, more accolades are probably in the future for the game. No date has yet been mentioned for the X-Box version.
