Previously rumored to be already in development, new rumors have surfaced concerning Final Fantasy IX. A source at Squaresoft has revealed that Final Fantasy IX may be the last in the series. While the source did not give a definite answer on whether or not IX will be the last, he did state that there had been an internal discussion as to whether it would be, and that it was decided on a "majority wins" vote.
