In addition to our earlier news story showcasing Final Fantasy VIII at Square's both, one interesting detail visible on the promotional video, as well as the playable game at Square's booth was a mysterious new character involved with your party in the game.

   Roughly translated as "Kistis Tulip," this female character battles her foes with a long, dangerous whip, and is clad in a red suit. Commenting sadly on the state of RPGs, many young male players will lose a significant amount of sleep until it is discovered whether or not the costume is made of tight leather. Kistis is apparently the teacher of students at Balamb Garden, and accompanies Squall and his companions as they train for graduation at a nearby volcano.
