Spiderweb Software has announced that it will be releasing Avernum 3: Ruined World. Along with the announcement came a trailer that shows the game, including its interface, tactical battle system, and the open-ended choices players can make for their character.

Functioning as a stand alone title in the series, Avernum 3 finds the player, a dweller of the underworld, having recently arrived in the overworld for the first time. The excitement is short-lived as the world is one of destruction. As the vanguard for a people looking to migrate to the surface, it is up to the player to first make it safe. Avernum 3 will be available on PC and Mac in early 2018.
