Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Kingdom Come: Deliverance developer Warhouse Studios followed up its demonstration of medieval armour and how it is reflected in-game with a new video highlighting the effect of weapons on that armour. Creative Director Daniel Vávra talks about how it is a misconception that medieval armour can be easily pierced, before demonstrating its toughness with the help of a pig carcass, some medieval weaponry, some armour, and trained professionals.

To reflect the different effectiveness of weapons and armour in real-life, as shown on the video, Kingdom Come: Deliverance's weapons and armour have ratings for blunt, slash, and stab damage. As shown in the previous video, players will be able to equip four layers of armour, with those able to get hold of full-plate armour becoming the medieval equivalent of a tank.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an open-world historical action RPG set in the medieval Kingdom of Bohemia (situated in modern-day Czech Republic) in the year 1403. The game is being developed for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One and is expected to be released sometime in 2017. A beta is currently available on PC for those who back the game via its official website.
