The developers for Sword Coast Legends, n-Space and Digital Extremes, have announced that the game will be further delayed. The PC, Mac, and Linux versions of the game will be released on October 20, 2015 while the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will release in the first quarter of 2016. The delay is due to the developers' wishes to further polish the game after feedback given by players in a limited early access program.

In Sword Coast Legends, as many as four players party up to explore dungeons while another player acts as the Dungeon Master, attempting to impede progress. Those who pre-order will receive expansion DLC Rage of Demons for free.
