The latest issue of Japanese magazine V Jump reveals that a new title is under development for the Summon Night series. Summon Night 6: Lost Borders will be available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita with a planned release date in spring 2016, which coincidences with the series' fifteenth anniversary.
Like other mainline titles in the series, Summon Night 6 is a tactical RPG with large battlefields of variable height. The game lets players choose from a male protagonist named Raj or female protagonist named Amu. The two live far away from each other, but both separately meet a mysterious person who appears to have been summoned from Lyndbaum, the world of previous games in the series. Raj and Amu each have their own companion, Patch for Raj and Quilt for Amu.
Summon Night 6 is currently set for release solely in Japan, though its predecessor, the PlayStation Portable title Summon Night 5, is set for release later this year in North America courtesy of Gaijinworks. A presale campaign for the limited number of physical copies of the game is currently underway.
