Sega's online RPG, Phantasy Star Online 2, is coming to PlayStation 4 in Japan, the company announced. The PlayStation 4 version of the free-to-play game will be released in 2016, with a demo version set to be playable at this year's Tokyo Game Show in September. A new expansion for the game, titled Reborn: Episode 4, will also be released in 2016.

Phantasy Star Online 2 was originally released in Japan for PC in 2012, with a vita version launched in 2013 and Android and iOS versions released in 2014. The game was initially planned to receive a western release in 2013, however, these plans have been shelved.
