In a recent press release, Nintendo announced that two games in the Castlevania series will be released on the North American Wii U Virtual Console. The first will be Castlevania: Dracula X, which was originally released on the Super Nintendo in September of 1995. Dracula X is an altered port of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood for the TurboGrafx-16, which was not released in North America. Dracula X will arrive on the Virtual Console later this week, on October 2.

The second game will be Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, which was originally released for the Game Boy Advance on June 11, 2001. The gameplay for Circle of the Moon takes after Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, while Dracula X is more of a straightforward action platformer. Circle of the Moon will hit the Virtual Console the following week, on October 9.
