Nintendo has announced that its beloved Super Nintendo RPG, Earthbound, has been released on the Wii U Virtual Console. Earthbound was originally released in North America on June 5, 1995 and is considered a cult classic by many RPG fans. While a Wii Virtual Console release was hinted at prior, it never happened. The game has off-television play, and is priced at $9.99 on the Wii U eShop.
