In a recent press release, Nintendo has given an exact date for the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. This Wii game will be released on November 20, 2011 in North America. This date falls in line with Nintendo's previous statement that the game will be due out by "Holiday 2011". Skyward Sword will be released in Europe a few days earlier, on November 18.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is stated to lay the foundation for the events in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, a remake of which was recently released on the Nintendo 3DS. While the game requires either the Wii Remote Plus or Wii MotionPlus accessory, it is not yet known if it will be packaged with either device. MotionPlus-only games tend to be bundled with one or the other.
