Matsuzo Machida, director of Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts II, has resurfaced, working on a small PSP RPG with Hamster Games. Called Arms' Heart, it has nothing to do with the Shadow Hearts series except that Machida is the director/story writer.
Arms' Heart is a traditional RPG set in a dark steampunk fantasy world. Its combat system will be turn-based, but players will play a timed gear-matching minigame in order to make combat actions more effective. Character development appears to be linked to a "Cultivation System", where the player uses battle rewards to raise creatures known as Homunculi. These creatures give the player new skills and unlock secrets from the main character's past.
The Arms' Heart official page opened in time for the Tokyo Games Show. The game will release on November 25 in Japan. It has not been announced for North America.
