As was announced today by Nintendo, the price of the DS will drop from $149.99 to $129.99 on August 21. This maneuver's close proximity to the U.S. launch of Nintendogs, August 22, reveals Nintendo's intentions.
Says Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of sales & marketing, "The new price and the arrival of a mega hit like Nintendogs give Nintendo DS a one-two punch that will thrill consumers. Consumers know Nintendo offers the best in the hand-held video game industry, and this news should make them very happy."
Other upcoming titles for the Nintendo DS, of the RPG persuasion, include Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, The Legend of Zelda DS, Lunar: Dragon Song, Mario & Luigi 2, and a host of others.
