The Legend of Heroes

Bandai Games Inc., after announcing one new RPG already today, has announced The Legend of Heroes for the PSP, which will ship in North America in September. This title is a turn-based, single-player, role-playing game that features over 100 unique characters to interact with, over 50 hours of gameplay, and a deep story in what is heralded as one of the prettiest 3D environments available on the PSP.

Known in Japan as Eiyuu Densetsu ("Legend of Heroes") Gagharv Trilogy: Akai Shizuku ("Crimson Tears"), this title was developed by Nihon Falcom, which is probably most notably known for its "Ys" series as well as the "Brandish" and "Sorcerian" series. The Legend of Heroes is the second title in a five game trilogy. It is currently unknown as to why Bandai chose to not release the original title in the series or whether they will continue to localize the future titles. The company did mention that those unfamiliar with the story will find an easy-to-pick-up gameplay experience.

This title features more than 100 different types of character illustrations from "beloved" ex-Falcom character artist Minako Iwasaki, who redrew her characters specifically for the PSP release. Bandai plans to announce more details for this title in upcoming months and gamers can be rest assured that RPGamer will bring these to you as quickly as possible.
