Zelda Majora's Mask to Get Golden Treatment

Nintendo will be releasing The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask with a shiny golden cartridge, just as it did with the release of Zelda 64: Ocarina of Time. This time, the golden cart will not be restricted to just those early adopters who pre-order the game; anybody who picks up Majora's Mask early enough should get one. However, Nintendo advises that the golden carts will only be available in limited numbers, so pre-ordering might be the best way make sure one finds its way into your Nintendo 64.

And that's not all! Nintendo has also promised that the special editions of Majora's Mask with be garnished with a special "lenticular" label. RPGamer is unclear as to what this means. A lenticular label could be a label that is shaped like a lentil turned sideways, but it also could mean that the label will have tiny corrugations or grooves like those molded or embossed into the surface of a projection screen. Only those who get their paws on early editions will know for sure.

Expect Majora's Mask to be advertised through the fall on TV as well as via 60-second ads on screens at movie theaters across the country. Majora's Mask will first become available on October 26, the same day that the PlayStation 2 makes its American debut. Expect October 26 to be a crazy day at your local videogame shop and RPGamer News will be there.
