Bethesda Game Studios' two open-world RPG series — Fallout and The Elder Scrolls — both appeared during its E3 showcase presentation. The developer first revealed three new downloadable add-on packs for Fallout 4, which was followed by announcement of significant update to Fallout Shelter and the reveal of a remaster of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

The three add-ons coming to Fallout 4 are Contraptions, Vault-Tec, and Nuka World. Contraptions will be released next week and gives players various new crafting options for their settlements, with an emphasis on machinery. New objects that can be built include elevators, armor and weapon racks, ball track kits, sorting machines, and conveyor belts. Vault-Tec will be released in July 2016 and gives players the chance to build and oversee their own Vault. It will also allow players to run various experiments on the Vault Dwellers. Finally, Nuka World is a new location for the game set in a pre-war amusement park taken over by raiders. It will be released in August 2016. All three pieces of DLC will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Bethesda later announced that Fallout 4 is also coming to VR platforms, with HTC Vive support confirmed for some time in 2017.

Fallout Shelter, a simulation and management game released in 2015 for iOS and Android where players are put in charge of a Vault, will be coming to PC in July 2016 along with major additions to its other versions. The update adds in various quests that the Dwellers can undertake as well as adding new locations, characters, and enemies, plus a brand new combat system.

Finally, the developer confirmed rumours that a remastered version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition will be released on October 28, 2016, and includes all the add-ons plus various graphical enhancements. The console versions will also add support for user-created mods.
