Nintendo revealed today that the next game in the popular Yo-kai Watch series, Yo-kai Watch 2, will be released in North America on September 30, 2016, for the Nintendo 3DS. The game will be released in two versions: Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls. Both versions of the game were originally released in Japan back in July of 2014. The announcement comes after the wave of Yo-kai Watch merchandise and media, including a television show and a mobile game, proved to be successful.

Yo-kai Watch 2 allows players to explore areas outside of the main character's sleepy town of Springdale to find over a hundred new Yo-kai. The game also includes an improved in-game Yo-kai Watch, which was used in the first game to locate Yo-kai and change the time of day. Players can also now travel in time via the Yo-kai Watch. Each version of the game has a rare unique Yo-kai that can only be found in that version of the game.
