Nintendo today confirmed that its in-development The Legend of Zelda title, originally announced for the Wii U, will be released on its upcoming Nintendo NX. The game will launch simultaneously for both Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo NX sometime in 2017.

Along with the specific Zelda announcement, Nintendo revealed that the Nintendo NX itself is planned for release in March 2017 in both North America and Europe. The new Legend of Zelda title will be the primary focus for Nintendo at this year's E3 in June, with its Wii U version being the only playable title from the company at the show. The Nintendo NX will not appear at E3 and will be unveiled later in the year.
