Everquest Expansions Continue to Proliferate

Sony has announced it will be making another addition to its fantastically popular EverQuest series with the introduction of an expansion to the PlayStation 2 entry in the series, EverQuest Online Adventures. The new game, to be entitled EverQuest Online Adventures: Frontier, will feature a host of features including new items, quests, three new cities, and 24 new dungeons. There will also be a playable race, ogres, added to the mix, along with an unexplored continent for gamers to uncover.

According to Michael Lustenburger, director of product marketing for Sony Online Entertainment, there are now more than 500,000 network adaptors installed across the US. "Sony Online Entertainment is committed to serving this growing online audience," he stated. "With Frontiers we're making several changes to improve the game for new players, while adding a huge amount of new content to keep current EverQuest Online Adventures players involved in the game."

Beyond these tidings of bigger-newer-better, little else has been revealed about the expansion. Sony did indicate that it plans to have the game out in time for the holiday season this year. For coverage of the original title, check RPGamer's EverQuest Online Adventures page.
