Suikoden III Coming

In 1997, before Final Fantasy VII was released, a small RPG from Konami was released and became a cult classic. The title, dubbed Genso Suikoden, or simply Suikoden for short, had a massive amount of characters to find, 108, allowed six members in a party at once, and had several ways to battle, including party vs. party, one vs. one, and even large-scale wars. The title was so popular that Konami made a sequel that directly tied into the storyline for the original, including many returning characters, continuing storylines, and even the opportunity to use the hero from the first game, if you could find him.

As fans of the series can tell you, the entire Suikoden series centers around several special Runes that tend to be posessed by either the hero or their former best friends. As there are many runes, and only a few have been featured, it comes as no surprise to find out that Konami is working on the third game in the series. However, all that is known at this point is that it is being worked on and will be released in Japan next year most likely. Hopefully more details can be gathered this week as RPGamer invades E3.
