Toukiden 2

Koei Tecmo has released a new set of details and media for its upcoming action RPG Toukiden 2. This latest update provides information about some of the game's online features, along with a new trailer and another large collection of screenshots.

Players will find Portal Stones scattered throughout the game, which will transport them to the multiplayer lobby area. Here, they can accept missions from the Command Hub, allowing up to four players to join forces. The online mode can be played on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, with the PlayStation Vita version also allowing ad-hoc local network multiplayer. As before, the game features an extensive character creation system to let players make their unique Slayer.

Toukiden 2's campaign has seen an overhaul from the previous games. Main storyline missions are still delivered to the player by the Holy Mount, but now players are able to explore an open world and encounter other Slayers, whom they can join forces with for Joint Operations. If playing offline, players can still carry out Join Operations with Doppelgangers, ghost data of their friends' characters. Players are also able to trade equipment using Reliquaries. Donating items to these Reliquaries so they can be picked up by other players to potentially aid them in a tough battle is not a one-way system, however, with those who place the item given an item of similar value in return.

Toukiden 2 is a sequel to the PlayStation Vita game Toukiden: The Age of Demons and its enhanced version for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita, Toukiden Kiwami. The game will be released for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita in North America on March 21, 2017, before heading to Europe on March 24, 2017.
