Square Enix announced that it plans to release Star Ocean: Till the End of Time in Japan on PlayStation 4 in 2017. As is standard with PlayStation 2 releases on the PS4, the game will include Trophy support, share functionality, Remote Play, upscaled resolution, and improved load times. The version being ported to PS4 will be the Star Ocean: Till the End of Time Director’s Cut, which contains additional content over the initial Japanese release and was used as the base for the localised version. As of now there is no word yet on an English PS4 release.
Star Ocean: Till the End of Time is the third game in the series of science fiction RPGs, which follows Fayt Leingod and his friend Sophia Esteed as they are seperated from Fayt's parents and stranded on a crime-ridden planet stuck in medieval times. The game originally released in the west in 2004. two other Star Ocean titles have been released since, though both are set prior to the events of third game: Star Ocean: The Last Hope and Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness.
