2K and Firaxis Games have announced that Long War 2, an officially-sanctioned mod for XCOM 2, is now available to download for free through the Steam Workshop. The mod is developed by Pavonis Interactive, which previously created the Long War mod for XCOM: Enemy Unknown and XCOM: Enemy Within.

Long War 2 adds various new features and new content to the game. These include a lengthier campaign that generally runs for 100-120 missions, new mission scenarios, a new soldier class, and a more strategic and adaptive AI opponent.
