Scalebound

Originally planned to release this year, Microsoft announced earlier today that it has cancelled its PlatinumGames-developed action RPG Scalebound. In a press release, Microsoft had this to say:

"After careful deliberation, Microsoft Studios has come to the decision to end production for Scalebound. We're working hard to deliver an amazing lineup of games to our fans this year, including Halo Wars 2, Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, Sea of Thieves and other great experiences. For more information on our 2017 plans, please visit: https://news.xbox.com/2017/01/05/xbox-closes-milestone-year-in-2016/."

Scalebound was to be a cooperative action RPG for the Xbox One and Windows 10 where up to four players, along with their dragon counterparts, could team up to combat massive enemies. The dragons in the game could be ridden and the protagonist could also activate a dragon form of his own. When asked by Windows Central for the reason for the game's ceased production, Microsoft indicated that was due to "business decisions".
