Obsidian Entertainment has been slowly working on Pillars of Eternity ever since its Kickstarter project wrapped up in late 2012. However, yesterday it announced that it will now be working with Paradox Interactive, which will act as the game's publisher. Obsidian is still fully in control of the IP and responsible for its funding, but Paradox is taking on the responsibilities for marketing and distribution.

The many people who have supported Pillars of Eternity so far are likely watching this new turn of events carefully. To clear up any concerns its backers might have, Obsidian has released a "Partnership FAQ" explaining how this new deal will affect the promises the company made in its Kickstarter.
