In order to celebrate the success of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Nintendo has decided to give Nintendo 3DS owners a new chance to own one of the lesser-known titles in the series. From now until midnight Pacific time on February 2, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition will be available as a free download on the Nintendo eShop.
The Four Swords Anniversary Edition is a standalone version of the multiplayer-focused game mode that was originally included in the GBA release of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. This game introduced both the villain Vaati and the Four Sword that allows Link to split himself into four in order to fight him. Up to four players can team up to play together via local multiplayer, so long as each has a copy of the game.
