Aion

Along with receiving a new name, NCsoft-published MMO Aion is going free-to-play on April 11, 2012. To be called Aion: Ascension, the change will come as part of the game’s 3.0 content update. Other features of this update will include an increase of the level cap to 60, the addition of new zones and instances, a mount system, and a housing system. According to NCsoft’s official site, there will be no subscriptions or account tiers. Instead, there will be microtransaction bundles, allowing players to purchase a number of items for in-game use.

Aion was originally released in North America on September 22, 2009 and on the 25th of the same month in PAL regions. It has since had two expansions, the first released on September 7, 2010 and the second on October 19, 2011.
