Back in what is surely considered the Stone Age of gaming at this point (1988), a post-apocalyptic RPG called Wasteland came out, showcasing an unprecedented level of storyline choice for an RPG at the time. Wasteland's producer, Brian Fargo, went on to make the first two Fallout games and work on many other legendary PC games.
Now Fargo and his company, inXile, are pitching a sequel to Wasteland to the masses. The Wasteland 2 Kickstarter project aims to earn $900,000 by April 17, and if those funds are raised, the game will be created. Backers can earn everything from a DRM-free digital copy of the game at $15 to a mega-deluxe prize package at $10,000. If Wasteland 2 receives funding, it is estimated to come out in October of 2013.
