The official website for Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland has been updated, providing new English-language information about the game. This final entry in Gust's Arland trilogy stars Meruru, the princess of the small kingdom of Arls. Meruru hopes to build Arls into a prosperous land rivalling the neighbouring Arland, and the main thrust of the game involves using alchemy to develop the kingdom.

One of the most interesting aspects of the development system is the way that Arls changes visually while being developed. Players will be able to see the results of Meruru's work in the field, where for example, a ruin could become a proud fortress. Developing the kingdom will also open up new areas for Meruru to explore, complete with tougher monsters and more advanced alchemy ingredients.

The website has also introduced a number of characters in the game. Along with returning cast members Totori, Rorona, and Mimi von Schwarzlang, Meruru has a few new friends of her own. Rufus the strict butler, Keina the devoted maid and childhood friend, and Lias the surly guard are all profiled on the website. Atelier Meruru is scheduled to be released in North America this May.
