Pirates of the Burning Sea

Pirates of the Burning Sea is condensing its five servers down to two in a move to help players have more populous sea battles. The move should ease player fears of sailing the seas with no one to make walk the plank, not to mention more balanced economies.

A press release from Sony Online Entertainment to its players states:

"On March 5, 2010 at approximately 12:01 AM PST, we will close the following servers: Blackbeard, Defiant, and Rackham. Beginning on February 5, 2010 at approximately 12:01 AM PST, you can transfer your characters from the affected servers onto one of the two remaining servers, Antigua or Roberts."

Players will be expected to transfer from Blackbeard, Defiant or Rackham onto one of the two remaining servers. Blackbeard, Defiant and Rackham will be shut down the first week of March. Former players with inactive account will be able to log in beginning February 5 to transfer their characters any time between then and March 5, 2010 for free.

Players should ensure their characters are relocated by March 5, or they risk being deleted. This is the second server consolidation since the game opened on January 22, 2008.
