Valkyrie of the Battlefield: Gallian Chronicles has been long since announced for the PlayStation 3 in Japan. However, SEGA just announced that it would be releasing the title for North American and European audiences, albeit, under a new name, Valkyria Chronicles.

Valkyria Chronicles takes place in a fictional world very similar to a 1930's Europe. Within this fictional Europe resides the small, neutral country named Gallia that’s situated between two massive political powers, the Empire and the Federation. Soon in the story, the Empire invades Gallia. The player takes the role of the Gallian soldier Welkin and his fellow soldiers as a war ensues.

Though there's no set release date for Valkyria Chronicles, it's slated to be released Autumn 2008. Stay tuned to RPGamer for further details concerning its release.
