Square Enix Unveils New Policy on Releases

In a recent Square Enix press event, Yoichi Wada announced that major titles in the next fiscal year, which begins April 1, will be released on a monthly basis. Currently these major releases include Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song, Final Fantasy XII, Drag-On Dragoon 2, Musashiden II, and Hanjuku Heroes 4 (which we do not cover). Out of those titles, only Minstrel Song has received an official release date at this time (April 24).

Mr. Wada also announced that Final Fantasy XII is not at the front of this line and will probably miss its scheduled Spring release date. At this time, this release schedule is only applicable to Japanese releases, however; it's possible that Square Enix will take a similar approach in other regions when major titles are released.
