Still two weeks before the game's launch, Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker has become the company's most successful pre-order campaign of all time. Fuelled in part by the offer of a free disc including Zelda: the Ocarina of Time and its Master Quest, Ura Zelda, the program's pre-orders even outdid one of the holiday season's most popular offerings, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

"Given the history of the Zelda series, we expected overwhelming interest, and this solidifies the ever-growing phenomenon and attraction gamers have to the characters and story," explains George Harrison, senior vice president, marketing and corporate communications, Nintendo of America Inc. "It doesn't matter which system you own, gamers across the world respect and anticipate the launch of any Zelda game".

Featuring a bizarre new artistic style and connectivity with the Game Boy Advance that will allow players to unlock a special character and features, The Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker will launch on March 24. The game will retail for a suggested price of $49.95.
