Tetsuya Nomura, art director of Square's Final Fantasy/Disney hybrid Kingdom Hearts, received a Game Developers Choice award for excellence in visual arts.
The award was presented by the International Game Developers Association (IGDA).
Other nominees in the category were Freedom Force (PC), Syberia (PC), The Mark of Kri (PS2), and Sly Cooper (PS2).
Also in relation to Kingdom Hearts, the rumors have solidified, and Kingdom Hearts 2 is currently in development. Squaresoft had been interested in making a sequel for some time,
and Disney has finally agreed to go along with the project.
