New Hunter X Hunter Game In Development

Bandai will release a new RPG based on the manga series Hunter X Hunter. A previous game, Hunter X Hunter, was released by Konami for the Play Station in the fall of 2001. The new game, entitled Hunter X Hunter: Greed Island, takes place in the most recent arc of the manga series by Yoshihiro Togashi. The main character Gon and his best friend Killua have been transported into a strange, rare video game named Greed Island. The point of the game is to collect over 200 special cards scattered across the vast landscape, while competing with a number of other players. The catch? If Gon and Killua die while in the video game, that means death in real life, too.

Hunter X Hunter: Greed Island will allow you to control a party of up to 3 characters, though you start out with only Gon and Killua. The game will feature a card-based battle system, meaning the characters will use cards to perform magic, special attacks, and summon monsters to battle. Bandai plans to release the game for their recently-discontinued Swan Crystal in Japan on April 24th at a cost of ¥4,800, or about $40 U.S.
