Enix determined earlier this week that it would no longer be introducing games in print media as a result of unsatisfactory coverage of its announcement of Dragon Warrior VIII. The problem was not a quality issue, but rather a concern with the fact that images of the game scanned from the Shonen Jump publication were released online a full four days before the magazine hit newsstands.

All future titles announced by Enix will be introduced to the public through press conferences. It is unclear whether this new policy would extend to Square's titles once the merger of the two companies goes through.
