Camelot, maker of such austere RPG offerings as Beyond the Beyond and the Shining series, is currently developing a new GameCube RPG. The announcement came in an interview conducted by Japanese magazine Dorimaga with Camelot's president Hiroyuki Takahashi and shed little light on what the game would look like. The company will unveil the title sometime this year, and expect the game to make it for Japanese release in that time as well. Otherwise, little is known.

With numerous games across a variety of platforms featuring fairly similar mechanics, chances are good that Camelot will be sticking to its tried-and-true RPG formula, although the developer has made occasional departures from form. No mention has been made of a North American release at this time.
