New Magical Vacation Details

Brownie Brown, a team founded by the creators of the Seiken Densetsu series, has been hard at work developing the Game Boy Advance title Magical Vacation. Now, some details about the game have been released. In Magical Vacation, the player assumes the role of a group of young students attending a magic school. Unfortunately, the school is under attack by a group of evil monsters, and so the young magesare forced to flee to an alternate dimension, a parallel world known as the Plain of Light.

Co-operation is key to the advancement of characters, as they must work together and build their magical skills in order to overcome challenges and find their way back to their home world. The game's art is hand-drawn, and is rather reminiscent of the Seiken Densetsu series. The gameplay will also be strikingly familiar, as the traditional action-RPG style closely mirrors that of the Square classic.

Magical Vacation is currently slated for a summer 2001 release in Japan. There has been no mention of a North American release at this point, but given that the Game Boy Advance launch is still months away, there is little chance of an announcement this early anyway.
