Final Fantasy VIII Minigame

    Although the fact that Final Fantasy VIII will have minigames, like its predecessor, will not come as a surprise to most people, the potential depth of the first one might. Entitled simply Card Battle, this minigame takes place in garden and city areas where the characters normally interact with townspeople. Instead of talking to them with the circle button, the player can press the square button, and if the person has cards, a Card Battle will ensue.

    The format of the game is quite simple, the player with the highest face value card wins. New cards are obtained through Card Battles, as well during combat with monsters. There are also many cards that will be difficult to find and the player willbe rewarded in some way for finding these cards.
