I had decided to work with The Federation of Windurst some time ago (as soon as I heard the track from the piano collection) and decided to go for a waltz for woodwinds. Why a waltz for woodwinds, you wonder? I just thought that the alliteration was catchy. That's all, really. I actually mentioned in SPOILER ALERT! that "I compose for the most inane reasons." Overall, the piece is quite lively (and riddled with trills). The first part of the piece is fiercely repetitive and insistent—a characteristic of the first part of the original track from the OST. I tried to break it up a little by introducing an original theme (upon the same chords) at around 1:20. I also mixed up the order of parts a little, e.g. an early segment of The Federation of Windurst appears quite late at 3:33 (embedded within a modified version of the second Vana'diel March that I added for some flavor) while a relatively late part appears early on at 0:57. The piece ends with the first two notes of the main theme. Composed using Sibelius 4 for two flutes, an oboe, three clarinets, and a bassoon. Graciously rendered by Kouen using SONAR 6 Producer Edition.

Composed for Adriaan "omegabyte" den Ouden, Furious Prophecy is, without a doubt, the most massive remix I had ever composed with almost 70 pages of orchestral score. The piece draws upon Sarutabaruta (which means "the land of prophecy" in the ancient Tarutaru language) for inspiration and the new energized character drove me to name the piece as such. This piece utilizes the sonata form, making this the most classical output in quite a while. Composed for flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, horns, trumpets, trombones, tuba, timpani, cymbals, and strings using Sibelius 5 and rendered by Kouen using SONAR 7 Producer Edition.

I am a regular participant in the Peoples' Remix Competition on the OverClocked Remix General Discussion forums, where we were given a week to make a remix out of the second Vana'diel March theme from Final Fantasy XI. My version of the theme takes a chilled approach to the theme itself, complete with a wide variety of keyed instruments, synths and stringed instruments fitting to the category. Win or lose, it was all great fun participating in the PRC, and I hope some people from here would chip in too once PRC62 is announced this Friday :)

This song is a remix of Vanadiel's theme from Final Fantasy XI. I don't usually make orchestral Remixes but I thought it would be nice to try it with this song. I made this song for the People's Remix Competition #61 that is being held at the OCRemix boards every two weeks. Anyways, hope you enjoy it.

Mhaura is a quiet little fishing village in the arid land of Kolshushu. The tranquillity is broken only by the occsional ship from the far off eastern city of Al Zahbi, or a fishing boat from Selbina hauling in it's catch. One can hardly see a party of bards playing heavy metal in such an enviroment! However, a softer "power ballad" mirrors the serene atmosphere while hinting at the subtle sense of adventure in the air. Song was assembled in FL Studio 8, vocals by me, lyrics written by my brother Mark: A voice floats in on the wind Yet no one knows what it's saying Secrets are told, stories unfold Listen to it's healing words Come and rest in our town Time to lay your sword down Come follow the breeze over the seas it brings wisdom for you
